What is Voyage en Vogue?
Voyage en Vogue is where culture meets couture. I (Alissa Nichole) want to showcase fantastic fashion, accessories, and home finds. My mission is to approach travel holistically: if you want to travel in style and with style, you HAVE TO eat, play and experience. I want to give you a sneak peek of things that will spark your curiosity, encourage you to explore, and bring a spotlight to talented artisans and other creators/owners.

Who am I?
I’m Alissa Nichole, a native New Yorker who loves fashion, food, and travel. I’m a creative soul who enjoys photography, fashion, writing, nature/gardening, and interior decorating; I also moonlight as a travel advisor. I came up with the concept of Voyage en Vogue during a 2018/2019 trip to Tanzania. I had just finished taking an entrepreneurial class; throughout my life, I’ve worked on several different projects and had tons of ideas, but they would only feed my soul for a short time. Until it hit me, riding in the back of a cab, thinking about how I was on this fantastic trip: I work for a fashion brand, and I’d encountered so many vibrant articles of clothing during my time in Tanzania, and traveling is one of my passions. Things just CLICKED. Friends always tell me my eyes light up when I start talking about travel and giving them travel tips. So, five years later, almost to the day, in 2023, I decided to bite the bullet: Voyage en Vogue was officially launched.
Favorite trip:
2019 New Year’s in Tanzania. My visits to Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar were the real deal, thanks to Curious on Tanzania. I love visiting the places that locals frequent. One of the trip’s highlights was going to a beach party and vibing with the guests. It was a chill experience that made me feel right at home.
Favorite destination:
I don’t like to repeat cities, but I always find my way back to Los Angeles. I could see myself living there; I appreciate the easy access to nature and the overall chill vibe!
Next destination:
I haven’t been to South America yet and would love to visit Peru. I’m also desperate to return to the Indian Ocean at some point too… I love how warm the water is!
Favorite airline:
For domestic flights, I’m all about Jet Blue and Delta. Internationally, I love Emirates. I recently flew American Airlines after having a ticket change after missing a flight, and after the service I received, I think they might be on the list as well!
I never leave home without…
My AirPods. Great for drowning out the hecticness of the city and catching a vibe.
How would I describe my style:
Eclectic and all-encompassing. My default has become hippie, but it all depends on my mood. Thanks to the pandemic and not having to commute, I became a sneakerhead for a bit. I’ve also gotten more into athleisure and loungewear. And although I was never one to wear super revealing clothing, it’s been fun seeing what looks good on me and getting a feel for what I’m comfortable in.
Favorite fashion brand/designer:
The first brand I ever fell in love with was Kate Spade. As a person who loves bright colors and bold patterns, I was always a big fan of clothing that was out of the ordinary and whimsical. Other designers/brands on my radar are Christian Siriano, Andrea Iyamah, and Saaksha & Kinni.
